The Bank of New York Mellon appointed as depositary bank by Commonwealth Bank of Australia Limited

New York, United States 27 April 2009 (www.biznewsselect.com) The Bank of New York Mellon, the global leader in asset management and securities servicing, has been selected by Commonwealth Bank of Australia Limited (CBA) as the depositary bank for its American Depositary Receipt (ADR) program. Each CBA ADR represents one ordinary share. The ADRs trade on the over-the-counter market under the symbol "CMWAY." CBA's ordinary shares trade on the Australian Securities Exchange under the symbol "CBA."
