F1: Can you hear him whine - Fernando?

Alonso's feeling upset and starting the blame game early in the season.

With two finishes in the points - by virtue of still being around at the end when others failed - Alonso's not a happy man. He's already eyeing up Massa's seat at Ferrari and, being Alonso, he's already starting the needle to undermine Massa's confidence.

Whilst ruing his own results and blaming his car - and therefore by association his team - Alonso did not quite gloat, but he did make a point of saying that Massa had now failed to finish two races, and both times it seemed to be as a result of driver error.

Increasingly, Alonso seems to be toxic. He was horrible at Renault when things didn't go his way in 2006, he was downright nasty in 2007 at McLaren and now he's setting about Renault again - the team, it has to be remembered, that took him in when others were pointedly turning their back on someone they saw as a trouble maker.

Alonso is buttering up Ferrari - saying he has an option to leave Renault and he'd like to be in a winning car "and the Ferrari is one of the best."

No doubt. But the question is how many teams will want him.
