Rolls-Royce aero to cut 2,000 jobs

General economic slowdown and aircraft manufacturing delays are blamed for the almost 2,000 jobs to be lost in addition to cuts announced earlier this year.

Both Airbus and Boeing are customers for engines for their A380 and 787 respectively.

Although Airbus is now pushing its giants out quickly, the delay in the project has caused problems for its suppliers. And it sometimes seems as if every announcement from Boeingis that the 787 has been further delayed.

Rolls is announcing cuts to take effect in 2009.
