In view of the deteriorating security situation anyone considering going to Bangkok should urgently review their plans.

British visitors were recommended to review any plans to visit Bangkok, and residents advised to "stay indoors as far as possible."

Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs: issued warning 11 April.

Warned Singaporeans to avoid Pattaya unless it is imperative to go there.

Canada - Foreign Affairs and International Trade Department: issued warning 12 April.

Following the declaration of a State of Emergency Bangkok and Nonthaburi province, and areas of Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Nakhon Pathom and Ayutthaya Canadians are strongly advised to avoid locations and areas where demonstrations have been and are currently ongoing.

Australia - Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade: issued warning 12 April

A State of Emergency was declared in Bangkok and surrounding provinces on 12 April 2009. The duration of the State of Emergency is not yet known. The State of Emergency bans the gathering of more than five people. The military may become involved in enforcing the decree. You should consider your need to travel to Bangkok or surrounding provinces (Nonthaburi, Samut Prakan, Nakon Pathom, Ayuthaya, Pratum Thani) at this time. If you are in Bangkok or surrounding provinces you should avoid unnecessary movement around the city or province.

USA State Department - as of this morning, no specific new warnings have been added to the general cautions issued by the US State Department.
