2005 09 Hurricane Rita - USA
Hurricane Rita hit the USA coast of the Gulf of Mexico causing widespread damage and great economic harm to a part of the country that is both on of its most strategically important for oil yet, paradoxically, has one of its largest concentration of the poor. Rita was the most powerful hurricane to hit the USA for years. Its impact was so enormous that the US Government, State and City authorities were unable to immediately react to the scale of the disaster.
